How do we perceive home automation?
In this publication within our “Home Modernization” block we wanted to delve into the perception that our society has about home automation, and what benefits it brings us in our daily lives. Are we prepared to integrate home automation into our homes?
As we can see in the associated graph, the greatest benefit (perceived by more than half of those surveyed) is convenience. And this is what home automation is all about: the integration of technology in the home that allows us to comfortably control basic functions such as speakers, alarms, appliances, air conditioning or lighting from our smartphones, in addition to being able to integrate a “Turn off everything” button that It gives us the peace of mind of knowing that we have not left any appliances on.
After Convenience, the most perceived benefits have been Security (17%), Time Savings (14%) and Control (13%) that home automation brings us.
A curious fact is that 10% of those surveyed do not know what benefits they could perceive from home automation, which denotes a communication problem between companies in the sector with their target customers.
Finally, we would like to highlight that there are 5% of respondents who do not perceive direct benefits from the application of home automation in their homes, data that indicates that not everyone is open to the solutions that home automation brings us.
Our sample includes 500 residents of some of the largest Spanish cities (Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville and Bilbao) between 24 and 50 years old, including the same number of women and men, and with the condition that they had begun university studies.
